 A “self-described” servant, Carol Evans-Turner, affectionately known as “Momma T” credits her mother (Lillian), grandmother (Helen) and aunt (Ruby) for her love of cooking, giving back and passion to serve others. Growing up with ten siblings, Momma T  learned how to satisfy a variety of taste buds by creatively using spices and seasoning to enhance the flavor of meats, vegetables, and awaken the taste in every dish she prepared. Momma T was only 11 when she began preparing meals for her parents and siblings. Much of her adolescent years were spent working alongside her mother and aunts, feeding people in need. She quickly progressed to preparing meals for small groups on her own, always keeping a spirit of service and passion to help others. 

For more than 30 years, Momma T  has channeled her passion for serving and bringing people together with the art of cooking fine dishes, using basic foods found in pantries in most households. Known for her loving spirit and joy of cooking, Momma T regularly holds gatherings of family and friends that include delicious meals, great conversation, and an atmosphere filled with love and laughter. Following her daughter’s vision to continue the family’s legacy of giving back, Momma T  has been preparing and serving meals to families and various charities for nearly a decade. Her faithful team of volunteers, the “Lillian Legacy Team,” joyfully and consistently serve delicious meals that make a difference in the lives of the families there.

In 2019, Momma T  began offering private cooking lessons for a few of her daughter’s college roommates and nieces. Due to the encouragement to share her mouth-watering dishes beyond just those small groups, the “Cooking with Momma T” YouTube Channel was launched. In her spare time, Momma T created her brand of gourmet seasonings. Dedicated in memory of her mom (Lillian) and her mother-in-law (Nicknamed “Snuckie”), “LilliSnucs, LLC” gourmet seasoning is the perfect complement to her “Cooking with Momma T” YouTube Channel. While never receiving any formal culinary training, Momma T holds fast to her spiritual upbringing and belief that every meal she has created is because God anointed her hands to do His will through the art of cooking. As written in Exodus 30:23, she will “Take also for herself the finest of spices,” and Momma T uses them to create the finest meals, all with a love of cooking and a heart of service.
